About the Woodford County Jail

The nearly windowless brick structure that houses the 86-bed Woodford County Jail has several housing units to meet the security needs of inmates while ensuring they receive all of the necessary care including mental health, medical, social, and nutritional.

All inmates of Woodford County are held at this jail, both for misdemeanor and felony charges for the duration of a yearlong or less sentence and as they wait for their trial date. To be notified of the release or change in status of an inmate the Vinelink program allows for law enforcement and victims to sign up for notifications, and an ongoing roster of inmates is maintained for the jail directly.

Commissary accounts are also funded online to ensure that inmates are able to make the purchases they need while they are in the jail, and improve their experience. This is in addition to the programs and services provided by the staff and volunteers, and both phone calls and mail are also provided for each inmate.

Phones are available 7am to11pm unless an inmate is on restriction, with phones that only allow for outgoing calls that are collect or made with money on the commissary account.

Inmate Money Accounts

How Do You Deposit Money for an Inmate in the Woodford County Jail?

There are FOUR options for putting money on an inmate's books:

Option 1 - Dropping Money at the Jail
Bring money to the jail in person.
Either the jail personnel will process the Inmate Account payment or you will use a Jail ATM self-serve kiosk in the lobbies that accepts cash, debit or credit cards.

Option 2 - Deposit Inmate Money Online
Woodford County Jail uses Jail ATM to process all online deposits to an inmate's account. The company charges you a small fee for doing so, but the fee probably isn't as much as gas and parking would cost to take it to the jail in person.

Option 3 - Mail the Inmate Deposit to the Jail
Mailing a deposit takes more time to process than the other methods but can be done if you live too far away to bring it in person and you don't have a debit/credit card for online deposits. Never send cash. Always send a Money Order from the US Post Office, a reputable bank or Western Union. Call the Woodford County Jail first as they may want you to do this online or at the jail kiosk instead.
Make the Money Order out to the inmate's name and put their Inmate ID# in memo section of the Money Order.

To do this you will need the inmate's offender # (inmate ID #) and full legal name.

Due to the problem of letters and postcards containing, or soaked in contraband (drugs), TextBehind electronic and physical letters is replacing the former policy of allowing mail to be sent directly from inmate’s friends and family members, and vice versa.

We’ve compiled a list of Frequently Asked Questions and Answers for everything you need to know about Woodford County Jail’s Text and Email Policies, Rules and Guidelines. If you still have questions after reviewing these FAQs, call 309-467-2375 for further assistance.
