Combining the court, the Sheriff Office, and the jail provides easy transportation for court dates and other needs, allows for these organizations to work well together and coordinate, and can save money for the county.
Inmates are held at this location for all of Ogle County on both felony and misdemeanor charges both as they wait for their trial and as they serve a short sentence of a few months or a year.
