The Adams County Juvenile Detention Facility has a maximum capacity of 30 residents at any time within their secure facility. Students will be held at this location if they are between the ages of 10 and 17, and have been arrested, are determined to require detention for their own safety or the safety of the community or are expected to not show up for their court dates. They will be transported from the facility to the courthouse for each of their court dates, and ensure that they are provided with treatment, nutrition, exercise, education, and all other needs. Group duscissions and a behavioural program are in place to assist in correcting behaviors that may lead to recidivism and instead encourage healthy choices and positive decisions. There is a staff of 34 and it serves 11 counties that are in the surrounding area, providing them with the housing for their juvenile offenders as required. Privileges are earned through decisions and behavior and can be lost the same way, with the levels receiving more phone calls and additional visits for their positive behavior and interactions. Phone: Students begin with one phone call each week, that will be 15 minutes long but may earn up to two additional phone calls through good behavior. These calls will occur between Monday and Friday 5:15-6:45pm Visitation: Students have one visit each week but may earn up to two additional visits per week. Level 1; 1 per week Friday: 5:30pm-7:00pm Saturday/Sunday: 12:30pm-2:00pm, 5:30pm-7:00pm. Level 2; 2 per week Monday/Wednesday/Friday: 5:30pm-7:00pm, Saturday/Sunday: 12:30pm-2:00pm, 5:30pm-7:00pm.
