The Nex Perce Juvenile Detention Center is located in Lewiston, Idaho and serves Nez Perce county. The facility is used both by the local police as well as the sheriff’s office, and all youth are under 18 while they are held here. Healthy meals are provided by the local adult detention center, and nurses are contracted to provide basic medical care for the students. Schooling is provided by the local schoolboard and each of the classrooms is equipped with computers and internet access to ensure they are up to date with their classmates who are not in the facility. It functions as a regional center, and serves the city as well as the surrounding areas and may accept youth from other counties as well. A strict routine sees youth attend school weekdays for 4 to 6 hours, eat on schedule, and have scheduled time for personal hygiene, phone calls, and other activities. Magazines

Any magazines that contain profanity, weapons, pornography or other content that is adult in nature will be confiscated by the jail staff and will NOT be delivered to the inmate.

Books
The Nez Perce Juvenile Detention Center allows books to be mailed directly to the jail from a reputable source such as AmazonBarnes & Noble or Books-A-Million. You can order them directly from your computer and have them shipped to the inmate at the address noted.
Books must NOT contain images or content that are considered excessively violent, pornographic or obscene. Any book that does not meet the Nez Perce Juvenile Detention Center standards will be disposed of.
