⇓ Learn more ⇓ Show lessWith a top capacity of 90 beds, the Blaine County Detention Center houses all detainees who are being held on either misdemeanor or felony charges for Blaine County and it is here they will remain as they wait for their trial or as they are serving a sentence. Juvenile offenders will also be housed here for up to 48 hours as they await transfer to another location, inmates from other counties or jurisdictions, and those who are waiting to be transferred to a state facility.
Everyone who is located within the jail will be accounted for on the online roster, including those who are newly arrested or recently released, and to obtain their inmate number for bail or to send mail call the jail directly at 208-788-5564.
Meals are delivered three times a day to all security levels including the individual cells of maximum security, the double occupancy cells of medium and minimum security, and there are phones available for outgoing calls only. Inmates are provided with medical care for any injury or illness, and will receive care for ongoing health concerns, along with mental health care and access to educational and skill learning opportunities.
To send mail to an inmate there is a third party processor that checks for a return address, opens each piece of mail and checks for contraband, and then scans the mail so it is digitally delivered to the inmate through their tablet.

Legal mail is opened with the inmate present to ensure no contraband is present.
Alternatively to mail, money may be added to the commissary account of any inmate through the kiosk that is located within the lobby of the jail, or online.
Inmates are also able to receive paperback books, puzzles, games, and other approved items through the mail directly from the retailer, and donations of new, packaged games may be dropped off to the jail itself for donation to the jail library.
Phone calls are permitted during the daytime hours and may be outgoing only, these can be made collect or through a prepaid account linked to the phones and tablets.
Tablets also provide access to video visits each week, up to 60 minutes for the week, and can be accessed from any internet capable device. Create an account to access visits online. Visiting hours are every day 7am-11:15am, 12pm-5:45pm, and 6:30pm-9pm.
Sentenced inmates are billed $25 per day for the costs of confinement.

Collect Calls
Collect calls allow you to accept and pay for calls to your land line (only) phone account. This means that if you accept your call from your inmate, all the charges for that call will then be billed to your land line phone account and will show up and be listed on your next local phone bill. Additional fees, costs, restrictions may apply.
Prepaid calls (Direct Calls)
With Prepaid Calls you can set up your account so that the inmate can only call you and/or you can just deposit money in their account and they can purchase prepaid phone cards through their commissary and call whoever they choose, provided the Blaine County Detention Center approves of the phone number.
