Bannock Juvenile Detention Center Information

The main goal of the Bannock Juvenile Detention Center is to provide a safe and secure location to house juveniles under commitment of the court. They staff work to provide a positive environment and interact with the residents, and to address concerns such as attitudes, failure to attend school, substance abuse or addiction, accountability, confidence and valuing themselves, and decision making skills. Both academic classes and some vocational training are provided to help maintain education and build employability. As the students develop more capabilities and learn new things they will feel more confident and better prepared for reintegration into their community. There are many services provided to assist in all of these goals, including programs to help transition the youth from the facility back into their local community and reunify with their family. A schedule is in place for each day, and any visits or calls are planned around the daily routines and the programs that each individual attends, ensuring they will not miss development activities while still having contact with their parents or guardians. Box 4926 Pocatello, ID 83205-4926 Phones: Only parents or guardians may have phone contact with students, who will be permitted two calls a week, either in or out, and each call will be 10 minutes.
