Leon Regional Juvenile Detention Center services surrounding counties and accommodates their juvenile offenders, both male and female, in this regional center. Regional facilities allow for the pooled resources of each county to provide better security, upgraded equipment, and updated facilities for a better experience for both staff and students, as well as the community. This facility has a capacity of 45 youth, and they are separated into housing units that put those with similar charges, ages, and other demographics together for the safest option for each person. Classrooms, libraries, and computers are all provided for educational purposes and ensure that students can continue their academics during their stay and receive any personalized educational support they require. Located in Tallahassee, the local school board is responsible for providing educational options to remain in line with the local schools. Along with educational opportunities, treatments for substance abuse, anger management, and trauma are all offered. Additional classes are offered on life skills, financial management, parenting, avoiding substance abuse and other concerns, and making healthy and positive choices. Any magazines that contain profanity, weapons, pornography or other content that is adult in nature will be confiscated by the jail staff and will NOT be delivered to the inmate.

Books
The Taylor County Juvenile Detention Center allows books to be mailed directly to the jail from a reputable source such as AmazonBarnes & Noble or Books-A-Million. You can order them directly from your computer and have them shipped to the inmate at the address noted.
