By combining their resources this 50 bed secure facility houses both male and female juvenile offenders who were determined to require detention while they wait for their court dates, while they wait for their sentencing, or while they wait to be transferred to a commitment facility. The average stay at this location is 10 days, during which time several programs are provided to build routine and develop new skills. Students will attend classes each day provided by a teacher with the local school board, mental health and addiction issues will be addressed,a nd each youth will receive a specialized schedule that addresses their specific needs. Participation in classes, counselling, and group activities is mandatory and any breaking of rules may result in a loss of privileges including phone access.
