Palm Beach Regional Juvenile Detention Center Information

Located in West Palm Beach, Florida, the Palm Beach Juvenile Detention Center serves only its own county with 60 beds that can be used for both male and female juveniles. To ensure the safety of the community, the staff, and the youth within the facility it has been designed with both safety and security as a focus. Teachers with the local school district provide daily education from Monday to Friday, and physical education is also provided as part of the curriculum. This allows for the students to return to their prior classrooms without falling behind during their absence. Cousneling is provided to address behavioral concerns such as anger management and emotional regulation, as well as trauma recovery and treatment for substance abuse. There is a well-rounded approach that addresses the educational, emotional, and physical needs of each student to provide the best results. Rehabilitaion and family reunification can assist youth in making better choices and developing new skills in social interactions and life skills. To meet these goals there are several programs and opportunities at the facility, and phone calls and visits help to keep the families up to date with progress. Mail: 1100 45th Street, Bldg. Phones: Phone calls are permitted to parents and guardians and there are phones within the housing units. Some days may allow for incoming calls as well as outgoing calls, allowing parents to interact with their child regularly. Visiting: To ensure that all families can visit there are three opportunities to visit each week, as well as on holidays. Thursdays 7pm-8pm, Saturday 12:30pm-1:30pm, Sunday 12:30pm-1:30pm

Any magazines that contain profanity, weapons, pornography or other content that is adult in nature will be confiscated by the jail staff and will NOT be delivered to the inmate.

Books
The Palm Beach Regional Juvenile Detention Center allows books to be mailed directly to the jail from a reputable source such as AmazonBarnes & Noble or Books-A-Million. You can order them directly from your computer and have them shipped to the inmate at the address noted.
Books must NOT contain images or content that are considered excessively violent, pornographic or obscene. Any book that does not meet the Palm Beach Regional Juvenile Detention Center standards will be disposed of.
