Local or national newspapers may also be mailed to the inmate as long as they are mailed directly from the newspaper publisher. Only one allowed.
Magazines
Magazines (subscriptions or individual), including puzzle books are permitted (no more than 2 each month, can be 1 of each) as long as they are mailed directly from the publisher's authorized distributor or a retailer such as; Books a Million, Walden Books, Barnes and Noble, Amazon.com or similar retailers. Your family cannot mail them to you. If the item(s) does not come from an authorized source it will be returned to sender. Books and magazines can be no larger than 8.5 inches by 14 inches in size.

You may send books to the inmate as long as they are mailed directly from the publisher or from Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com, BooksaMillion.com or a nationally recognized bookstore.
Books must NOT contain images or content that are considered excessively violent, pornographic or obscene. Any book that does not meet the Manatee County Jail standards will be disposed of.
Hard cover books will not be accepted by the jail due to their potential to be used as a weapon.
