About the Flagler County Jail

The Flagler County Jail, also known as the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, has a rated capacity of 402 beds. The current facility, renovated and expanded in 2016 on a 10 acre parcel, has the room to build two new pods with another 400 beds when the demand is there.  At the rate Flagler County is growing, they should need more bed space by 2027.

The original 29,000 square foot jail was constructed in 1992 with 132 beds. The expansion added a large two-story pie shaped structure that is 53,450 square feet and has 272 beds. It was built with escape-proof pre-fab cells and pre-fab showers. The $19 million they spend adding the new inmate beds also included a new sallyport, medical facility, kitchen, laundry facilities, classrooms, four rec yards, and administrative offices. The original 132 bed section was also renovated with new hardware and locks, and is now 100% entirely for female inmates.

In 2023 the Flagler County Jail had to replace the entire 149 camera security system, door locks and intercom as it is faulty and no longer reliable. The cost to the county will be another $1.6 million.

The Flagler Jail is located at 1002 Justice Lane in Bunnell, FL 32110. You can reach them 24 hours a day by calling 386-437-4116 if you have questions about an inmate in custody or need to get information about any of the inmate communication services. The inmate mail address is not the same as the location address. Mail to:

Inmate's Full Name & Inmate ID#
Smart Communications / Flagler County Jail-FL
PO Box 9170
Seminole, FL 33775-9151

The Sheriff of Flagler County maintains a detailed Jail Inmate Roster of not only the inmates in custody, but you can choose any date range and check on previous inmates, the dates they were there, their mugshots, charges, and how their criminal case was disposed.

Mail can be received every day and is processed and passed to the inmates quickly, however the jail uses a digital service to avoid contraband entering the facility. The original letter will be scanned and then destroyed. Friends and family of inmates in the Flagler County Jail can arrange to visit inmates by video, both at the jail and remotely from home. Friends and family can also communicate using an online text/email system, send them money and buy them commissary online, and set up a phone account that allows the inmates to call them during the day and evening seven days a week.

All the information on these inmate services can be found in the sections below.  If you still have questions, you can phone the jail 24 hours a day by calling 386-437-4116.
