The Clay County Jail in Florida has a maximum bed capacity of 490. It provides full accommodations for inmates and basic necessities during their incarceration. It has been operational since 1999. The Clay County Jail is located at 901 North Orange Ave, Green Cove Springs, FL 32043. The phone number for the jail is 904-529-5905.

Video visitation and in-person visits require that you first register with Securus Technologies. The complete visitation schedule is found below and even more information is on our Inmate Visitation page.  The Clay County Jail staff are sticklers for visitors dressing properly when coming to the jail. Don't wear anything seductive, gang related, obscene or trashy. If you do, you won't be allowed to visit. Visitors and offenders who fail to follow Detention Center rules during visitation may lose visitation privileges. Visitors and guests must have a photo ID or other form of identification. Attorney(s) may conduct visitation privately in the attorney visitation room or in the unit multi-purpose room areas.

Money orders are no longer accepted for inmate accounts.  You have to deposit money either online or by telephone.  All the instructions on how to do this can be found below or on the Inmate Money page. You can also purchase hygeine and snacks for an inmate that can be sent to them directly from a company called Access Securepack that the jail contracts with.

Securus, the same company that handles the video visitation here, also has a phone service. They offer the following programs: Collect Calls – offenders may place collect call using the inmate telephone system. The called party is responsible for all billed charges. Debit Calls – offenders may place a debit call using money in their commissary account. The offender is responsible for all billed charges. Voice Mail – Create and activate a private mailbox ID number by contacting Correctional Billing Services at 800-844-6591. An account can be set up online by visiting https://securustech.net/. The Clay County Jail in Florida has experienced overcrowding issues, and has implemented a number of programs to address this, such as work detail, work release, and sentence to service. Inmates are issued a book with information on their rights and responsibilities while in the jail. Recently, three corrections officers were fired for sexual misconduct with inmates, and an inmate died at the jail in 2020, prompting an investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. The Clay County Jail in Florida is unique in that it has full accommodations for inmates and provides basic necessities during their incarceration. It was also home to jailers and their families for 80 years, and the Clay County Archives Center, Old Jail, and TAPS Monument are located nearby. What is the Cost of a Remote Video Visit?
Costs vary and are subject to change, but generally visits range from $5.00 to $15.00 for a 15 to 30 minute online or on-site video visit.

How do you know if your Inmate will be available during the time you schedule?
The Securus system knows the times that Clay County Jail inmates are available for remote video visits.

  • Music - Top-40, Hip-Hop, Country, Rock, Gospel, and more.
  • Law Library -  Legal research with up-to-date case information.
  • eBooks - Thousands of available titles.
  • Religion - Religious resources for spiritual guidance.
  • Games - Inmates can play their favorite games. Available through monthly subscriptions
  • Facility Services - Digital access to submitted forms, requests, facility documents, and notifications from staff.

Here's how it works:

  • Pay for the subscription using Paypal.
  • You get charged the 1st of each month. 
  • You get charged a full month even if it's only used for a partial month.
  • No activation or early termination fees.
  • Your inmate will receive their tablet in 3-5 business days, after you pay.
