Those who are found guilty and sentenced to a term of less than one year, will do their time in this county. Those sentenced to longer terms will be sent to either the Florida State Prison System or the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

The location is 1550 Blount Rd., Pompano Beach, FL 33069 and it can be contacted by phone at 954-831-5900. The jail is set up for minimum and medium-security supervision. The Sheriff's Office of Broward County has an Arrest Search tool you can use, linked here, if you want to try to locate an inmate through their online Inmate Search. It's important that you use the arrestee's legal first and last name which is how they will have been booked into the Facility_name_1.
Although video visitation is offered, if you want to see a friend or family member who is in North Broward Bureau, you will have to go to a different location to conduct the visit at a Video Visitation Center. This separate address is where all Broward County jail visitations take place. The address is 3700 West Oakland Park Blvd., Lauderdale Lakes, Florida. If you click on Visits, or you scroll down, you can see the details of hours and rules for visitation. The other facilities holding visitation here are Central Intake Bureau, Joseph Conte Facility, Main Jail Bureau, and Paul Rein Detention Facility.
North Broward Bureau has a stated goal of keeping its inmates safe and returning them to the streets better prepared to stay out of jail, but the Broward County Sheriff's Department has been the subject of internal affairs investigations regarding excessive force on the part of deputies and inmate abuses at North Broward Bureau. One particularly chilling case involved a woman who gave birth alone in an isolation cell.
Fortunately, advocates are working to make conditions safer for pregnant inmates. North Broward Bureau was the first jail in the Broward County to incorporate the Every Mothers Advocate Program. These advocates involve female inmates in a 10-week parenting class with the intention of increasing family stabilization and keeping children out of foster care and with their own family.

After being arrested, the offender is brought to the North Broward Bureau for booking, which is the detailed process of identifying, classifying, deciding on charges, and whether the person will either be released on their own recognizance, allowed to be released on bail, or moved into the jail until their court date.
The first thing every newly arrested person must do is close their mouth. Everything an offender says may be used against them, so the best thing to do is remain silent when questioned about the arrest and what led to it.
These are the steps of booking someone into the North Broward Bureau:
Booking can take as little as an hour, or up to 48 hours on a busy weekend or holiday evening, or if the offender is violent, wasted or generally uncooperative. If you have any questions about when you can pay an offender's bond and what the cost will be, call the facility at 954-831-5900.
When an offender is arrested and brought to the North Broward Bureau in Pompano Beach for booking, there are several outcomes after being processed.
1. The offender will be released with no bail, promising to return on a specific date to appear before a judge in either Municipal or Broward County Court.
2. The offender is ordered to remain in jail until their court date.
3. The offender is allowed to be released after paying a specified bond or bail. Call 954-831-5900 to get the exact amount.
The payment of an offender's bail or bond can take many shapes.

What is the Cost of a Remote Video Visit?
Costs vary and are subject to change, but generally visits range from $5.00 to $15.00 for a 15 to 30 minute online or on-site video visit.
How do you know if your Inmate will be available during the time you schedule?
