Pueblo Youth Services Center Information

Housing youth who are between the ages of 10 and 17, the Pueblo Youth Services Center services the Souther region of Colorado and covers 20 different counties in the area. With a capacity of 20, the facility allows each of the counties to have access to juvenile detention facilities without the financial burden of their own individual facility with a lower capacity. Several programs and systems are in place to help youth transition back into their community, and this begins with teaching necessary life and social skills. Anger management and substance abuse are both treated within the facility, a general education is provided by the local school board to ease the transition back into their school, and decision making skills are developed. Mail: Colorado allows all the juvenile offenders who are being detained within a juvenile facility to both send and receive mail. They are provided with two stamps for sending letters each week but may be provided with additional stamps by their family members. All mail is checked for contraband upon arrival at the facility. 1406 W. 17th St. Pueblo, CO 81003 Phones: Each month there are two periods or more where there is access to phones for youth to both make and receive phone calls. This allows them to remain in contact with their immediate family and any others who are on the approved call list. Visitation: Visits must be scheduled in advance by contacting the facility, and there are visiting hours each day of the week to accommodate all families. Monday to Friday visiting hours are 6pm to 8pm and on Saturday and Sunday they are 1pm to 4:30pm and again 6pm to 8pm. Call 719-546-4915 to schedule your visit.
