Within Lassen County, the juvenile probation program has entered into contracts with the counties of Shasta, Butte, Tehama, and Sonoma to house their juvenile offenders. The location within the county of Lassen is not in use, and each of the young offenders is assessed and assigned to the appropriate juvenile facility for their needs and for the level of security they require for their risk levels. Once they have arrived at their housing assignment, they will be permitted to call their parents or legal guardians to ensure they are aware of their location, and they may be permitted to have a special visit that week. Magazines
News, special interest or sports magazines may also be mailed to an inmate as long as they are shipped directly from the publisher. Any magazines that contain profanity, weapons, pornography or other content that is adult in nature will be confiscated by the jail staff and will NOT be delivered to the inmate.

Books
The Lassen County Juvenile Hall allows books to be mailed directly to the jail from a reputable source such as AmazonBarnes & Noble or Books-A-Million. You can order them directly from your computer and have them shipped to the inmate at the address noted.
