South Lake Tahoe Juvenile Treatment Center Information

Built with triangles to represent strength, the South Lake Tahoe Juvenile Treatment Center has been slated for closure. Built in the manner of a jail, the decision was made to close this facility and to work with nearby Placerville to build a brand new facility with a different approach. The Tahoe facility has seen a decrease in use, requires multiple repairs, and no longer offers the environment that is preferred for young offenders. It was a difficult decision but is expected to better serve the needs of the community.
