Washington County Juvenile Detention Center is not only used for housing juvenile offenders but they also rehabilitate them. Through the use of programming and classwork, youth are offered many opportunities to improve their skills, maintain their education, learn new life skills, recover from addictions and substance use, and improve their mental health. Within the first 24 hours of arrival there is a half hour visit provided with the parents and they will then fill out the intake package with all of the necessary information to provide for all basic needs of the youth. Mail: Mail can be received each day, but must have a full return address to be delivered, and can be addressed to the resident at the following address. 885 W Clydesdale Dr, Fayetteville, AR 72701 Phones: Each youjth will be permitted to make phone calls each evening, but only to numbers that are preapproved by the staff. There are certain hours that they will have access to phones for this purpose. Visitation: Visits occur on different days for those who have already been sentenced and those who have not. For those who are not yet sentenced visitation is on Saturdays from 9am to 10:30am and again from 2 to 3:30pm. After sentencing visits are on Sundays during the same times. All visits must be scheduled in advance with the facility at 479-444-1670

Important Washington County Juvenile Detention Center Visitation Information

  • Visitation sessions are limited to 30 minutes.
  • Appointments must be made in advance by calling (479) 444-1670 x 6, Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm.
  • Children under 18 may not visit the detention center.
  • Only parents or guardians are permitted to visit unless a Special Request form is completed by the resident and approved by the JDC director.
  • Clergy, mental health professionals, and other professionals may call (479) 444-1670 x 6 to schedule visitation during normal business hours.
  • Parents and guardians may request alternative visitation under special circumstances (work, travel, emergencies), as approved by the JDC director - (479) 444-1670 x 3.
  • Additional holiday visitation for New Year's, July 4th, Thanksgiving, and Christmas can be requested by calling (479) 444-1670 x 6.

Appointments must be made Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00 pm

1. Only parents or legal guardians are permitted to visit. (Residents may complete a “Visitors Request Form “ for extended family to visit. The visit may or may not be approved.)
2. Parents/Guardians are allowed one 30 minute visit within the first 24 hours of intake. You will be asked to fill out a parent packet at this time.

3. Visitation hours are:
Saturday – Pre-Adjudicated 9:00 am – 10:30 am and 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm.
Sunday – Sentenced & FINS 9:00 am – 10:30 am and 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm

4. Visitation is for 30 minutes
5. Youth shall have the option of receiving visitors.
6. Picture ID & car keys are the only personal effects permitted into the facility. All other items should be left in your vehicle.
7. Picture identification of visitors will be requested and is required.
8. Visitors must adhere to all rules regarding visitation.
9. Visitation is monitored by direct supervision.
10. Visitors are subject to search and/or denial of admission if:

  • There is prior information of a security risk involving a visitor.
  • The visitor has been involved in passing contraband on a prior occasion. Contraband is to be considered any item that has not been pre-authorized by detention staff.
  • The visitor is suspected of using alcohol or illicit drugs prior to visit.

11. Special visits may be arranged in following circumstances:

  • Family members traveling more than one hour.
  • Health limitations of the youth or family member.
  • Work schedule of family members.
  • Family emergency situations such as a death or sudden illness.

12. You and your son/daughter must maintain appropriate behavior and language or your visit will be terminated.
13. Do not leave children under 18 years of age unattended.
14. There are special Holiday visits for Christmas, New Year’s, 4th of July & Thanksgiving. All rules still apply.
