About the Columbia County Detention Center

Housing adults who have been arrested for a misdemeanor or felony, or who have been sentenced to less than one year, the Columbia County Detention Center has a top capacity of 78 male inmates and 12 female inmates, 90 beds in total. 

Bond amounts are listed online and may be paid after booking has occurred, with some not requiring a court appearance first. Bail may be paid at the Columbia County Detention Center, however it may not be paid in cash; only credit card, debit card, or money order.

An online roster is maintained and updated regularly and offers both current inmates as well as those who have been released in the last 48 hours. This roster lists names, dates of arrest, charges, and bail amounts. Staff are also able to answer some questions by calling 870-234-5331.

As part of the booking process an assessment will be made to determine any immediate medical care that is needed, as well as an assessment of mental health, determination of housing assignment, and creation of a commissary account for purchases and fees. Jail clothing and bedding are provided which will be cleaned regularly.

Nutritious meals are provided for three meals each day and snacks and drinks, along with other clothing and hygiene items, can be purchased through the commissary, which is funded by friends or family adding money at the lobby kiosk or online.

This money may also be used for making calls through the phones located in the housing unit common areas, or they may make collect calls.

Visits are allowed and can be arranged by getting the visiting schedule from the inmate or those who are approved to visit may get it from the jail staff at 870-234-5331.
