This regional juvenile facility can house up to 34 young offenders at one time. The purpose of the facility is to address the needs of youth offenders and provide a safe and secure location for their detention that will also keep them separated from adult offenders. Staff is on site for food services and prepare all meals on site, and they are designed to meet the dietary needs of people that age. Physical education along with regular school classes are provided, and school days run from 7:55am to 3:10am on each weekday. Juveniles will remain in the facility for up to 90 days, and in some cases longer, but many are waiting for their court date or for their sentence to be determined. Visits are earned through the Behavior Modification Program and only parents or guardians may visit the juvenile offender during their detention. A nurse is on site to care for all medical needs including over the counter medication for headaches, colds, and other minor ailments, prescription medications can be provided to the jail and they will be dispensed to the youth as per the instructions included on the prescription. Approved visits will occur between 9am and 11am or 1pm and 5pm on a weekend day.
