The secure facility houses youth who are 13-15 years of age who are charged with serious crimes and will be prosecuted in adult court. Intake services run 24/7 and they will then be transported to the court on the next open day for their detention hearing, and they may be determined to require detention until their future court dates, they may be transferred to a nonsecure facility, or they may be released until their court date. All health, mental health, and educational services are provided, and there are a wide variety of programs offered to improve social and life skills, to provide space and tools for personal growth, and to intervene in behaviors that are problematic.
