Rock County Youth Services Center provides secure detention for youth who are ordered to detention through the juvenile court system, They are held in this location if they are considered to be a danger to themselves or to others in the community, and they will only remain until their court case has been resolved and they have finished their predetermined amount of time. Juveniles 12 to 17 years of age who are within the facility may be engaged in the ACTIONS program that offers care and assists youth in working towards their goals as well as those of the program. It is intended to reduce recidivism by encouraging positive decisions and breaking thought processes that encourage tendencies and decisions to break the law, provide coping strategies and teach new skills, and improve academic performance. All students will receive full care during their detention including healthy meals each day, academic classes that follow the local school schedule, physical education, recreational activities, social interactions and improved social skills, and all of their medical and mental health care including therapy as needed.
