This allows for the county to have access to a highly controlled and up to date facility without carrying the full cost of the facility, and it also assists Alleghany in supporting the costs of the facility while making the best use of the space available. While incarcerated at this facility there will be access to recreational time, educational opportunities, treatment for addictions and counselling as well as opportunities to communicate with the friends and family who will form the support system for the inmate after their release. Inmates may receive and send mail at the facility provided that it meets all the regulations and restrictions around content, size, and method of delivery. There are also phone banks that can be accessed during the day until 11pm each night, and these phone calls can be funded via Paytel.com. Visits are also encouraged and can be done either in person or online, either through the Homwav or Paytel.com program. Video visits from home are available from 9am until 10pm each day, with in person visits being limited to Tuesday through Thursday from 1pm-4:30pm and 5:30pm-8pm, Saturdays 1pm-4pm, and Sundays 1pm-5pm.
