About the Okmulgee County Jail

In 2002 the Okmulgee County Criminal Justice Authority was created to run the local jail. As needs grew, a second facility, the Moore Detention Center, was built and opened in 2018 which added to the Okmulgee County Jail that opened in 2002. With the combined capacity of almost 500 inmates, the two locations operate in tandem and are run in very similar manners. An online list of each of the inmates who are currently incarcerated in either of the locations is provided on the website for the jail and allows anyone to search for someone that they know or to check the location of a known offender. When visiting the jail all visitors must be registered and approved in advance, show up on time for their scheduled visit in appropriate dress and without contraband, and bring identification. Visits are organized by pod, and any who are under the legal age of the county must have special approval before they will be admitted. Visits last 30 minutes, and only one visitor is allowed for each inmate unless they have been previously approved. Mailing a deposit takes more time to process than the other methods but can be done if you live too far away to bring it in person and you don't have a debit/credit card for online deposits. Never send cash. Always send a Money Order from the US Post Office, a reputable bank or Western Union.

Make the Money Order out to the inmate's name and put their Inmate ID# in memo section of the Money Order.

Failure to do this properly will delay your inmate getting his account credited and may require you to have to resubmit a second money order.
