Residents arrive at Ordnance Road Correctional Center only after they have been taken through the receiving and classification process at the Jennifer Road Detention Center only, and will be assigned to housing here after their court dates are completed and they are serving their sentence.
Classification is completed after basic booking procedures occur, and it involves a look into the history of the inmate and their behavior and charges in other occurrences, their risk of flight or violence, and the severity of their charges and sentencing.

Each resident is provided with a tablet which allows them to send and receive messages, access media and learning materials, and to make video visits with approved visitors.
To access video visitation through tablets or the kiosk in the lobby it can be scheduled, with hours available Sunday through Thursday 8am-11:30am, 12:30pm-3pm, and 6:30pm-9:30pm and Friday and Saturday 8:30am-11am and 12:30pm-3pm.

Any magazines that contain profanity, weapons, pornography or other content that is adult in nature will be confiscated by the jail staff and will NOT be delivered to the inmate.
Books
The Ordnance Road Correctional Center allows books to be mailed directly to the jail from a reputable source such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble or Books-A-Million. You can order them directly from your computer and have them shipped to the inmate at the address above.
Books must NOT contain images or content that are considered excessively violent, pornographic or obscene. Any book that does not meet the Ordnance Road Correctional Center standards will be disposed of. No more than three books may be shipped at any one time.
Hard cover books will not be accepted by the jail due to their potential to be used as a weapon.
