About the Chilton County Jail

The Chilton County Sheriff’s Office operates the Chilton County Jail and houses all of the inmates within. Up to 232 inmates can be held at one time on charges that are either misdemeanors or felonies, and they will remain both before and after their sentencing, allowing them to serve their sentence close to their own community and support system.

Staff are available around the clock to both accept and release offenders as they are arrested or bonded out, and they can be reached for some questions at 205-755-1053, while other details on an inmate will be available online.

To meet the care standards for inmates they are provided with onsite medical care, onsite dental care, and onsite mental health services along with classification procedures that ensure they are housed in the correct housing units. Commissary is provided to allow access to additional hygiene supplies and other needs, and this can be funded through an online access, and telephones are provided to allow outgoing calls each day though an account online.

Mail is now sent to a third party vendor to prevent contraband from entering Chilton County Jail, so all personal mail is to be sent to the inmate name and ID # to the scanning center at:
